Did You Know We Have Been On TV?
In the 1980's a couple entered our showroom asking about different types of bathroom fittings and bathroom suites.
They enquired if we at Lancashire Bathrooms had a design service? - The answer was of course, Yes.
Do we do a drawing or sketch of the room to be refurbished they asked? - Again the reply was, Yes.
They in fact already had a set of plans drawn up by an architect with them, which they required transfering onto our bathroom desin planner. These bathrooms were to be fitted into a house being
built and shown on Sky Television's Discovery Channel, the program was to be a 16 part series called 'These Four Walls'.
The program was based upon people who have decided to build or oversee the construction of their own homes from planning to completion, using the skills of the local contractor or specialist.
Much like todays Grand Design's.
It was agreed that David Stansfield; the owner of Lancashire Bathrooms, would go to the site in Parbold to see the work on the shell of the house and to discuss with Mr. and Mrs. Thompson the
design and requirements.
Planning the three bathrooms was carried out back at the showroom on the computer, with discussion and ideas from both David and Mr. and Mrs. Thompson being decided on over several visits into
the showroom and to the site.
Finally the layouts and designs for all three bathrooms were agreed upon and the bathroom suite's and tiles picked. The main theme centred on emphasising shape and style, with curves
After further discussion it was agreed that instead of Lancashire Bathrooms just supplying the bathroom suites, the actual installation of the bathrooms would be completed by ourselves by one of
our skilled fitting teams.
The fitting and tiling of the bathrooms was carried out by Bernard Swarbrick, David and Neville Stansfield, Father and Son; David being the owner of Lancashire Bathrooms.
The installation of the bathrooms was filmed in several stages showing the procedure and methods used during the fitting of the bathrooms.
The program series was widely viewed during its first airing on the Sky Discovery Channel and has enjoyed more than three repeats on various channels since.
